The Terrassa City Council launched the Fils de memòria project this February, an initiative dedicated to recovering and preserving the history of non-heteronormative individuals in the city.

This proposal aims to break the silence that has surrounded the experiences of the LGTBIQ+ community for decades. The project stems from the Permafrost exhibition in 2024, which gathered the first documents and personal stories now kept at the Terrassa Historical Archive.

"To talk about LGTBIQ+ memory is to put the voices and experiences of people at the center, and to talk about rights, resistance, and collective struggles."

In 2026, the council plans to expand the initiative with Dissident Cartographies of Terrassa, a youth-led action to identify significant urban spaces. This will result in a virtual map on the EMaps platform and a route to be presented during Pride 2026 in June.
The program also includes the publication of fanzines and a digital collection curated by João França. Citizens are encouraged to contribute photographs or documents to the Vallès Occidental Regional Archive to help complete this historical record.
