The 3Cat true crime series Crims premieres its new season this Monday, March 16, featuring the case of a serial killer who targeted homeless people in Barcelona and was eventually caught in Sant Cugat del Vallès.

The episode, titled L'assassí de la pandèmia, explores the crimes committed during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. Taking advantage of the deserted streets, the perpetrator killed at least four people sleeping rough by striking them with heavy objects while they were defenseless.
Police intervention was triggered on April 27, 2020, after witnesses reported a brutal attack. The Mossos d'Esquadra followed the suspect from Barcelona to the la Floresta station, leading them to a caravan in the les Planes district where the man resided.
The 35-year-old man later confessed to the murders during his trial. He was sentenced to 63 years in prison for the series of killings that shocked the region during the height of the global pandemic.
