The economy in Castellbisbal closed February with 485 unemployed people, a decrease of eight individuals that stands out against the rising trend in the surrounding region.

Nationally, Catalonia reached a historic milestone with 3,850,359 people employed, the highest Social Security affiliation figure for February since records began in 2004. Despite a slight monthly increase in unemployment, the total of 327.253 is the lowest for this month since 2008.

"Our labor market is behaving robustly and with a sustained growth that is to be praised."

Paco Ramos · Secretary of Labor
In Vallès Occidental, the situation differed as the region ended the month with 42,009 unemployed, an 1.1% increase. Local authorities noted this rise is unusual for February, though year-on-year figures still show a 1.9% decline.
