The municipal group Veïns per Rubí will present a motion during the February plenary session to demand that E-Distribución renovates the electrical grid in the urbanizations of District 2 in Rubí.

According to the independent party, numerous homes in the area have suffered from constant voltage fluctuations for years. These issues cause appliances to malfunction and, in severe cases, lead to irreversible damage. The motion warns of risks such as overheating and short circuits that could cause fires due to the unstable service provided by E-Distribución Redes Digitales, part of the Endesa group.
The municipal group notes that the distribution company has often attributed these incidents to illegal grid connections. However, Veïns per Rubí points out that over the last two decades, the number of permanent residents in these urbanizations has grown significantly, increasing electrical demand on an infrastructure they consider obsolete.
Among the detected deficiencies, the motion highlights the visible deterioration of several concrete poles and the continued use of provisional elements. Consequently, they will ask the City Council to urge the company to establish an urgent maintenance plan and renovate the most affected sections to ensure a safe supply for Rubí residents.
