The Mayor of Terrassa, Jordi Ballart, convened the Municipal Emergency Committee this morning to assess the damage from a windstorm that has caused fifty fallen trees.

The wind episode affecting all of Catalonia intensified in Terrassa starting at 6 AM this Thursday, February 12. According to municipal reports, about fifty trees have fallen or broken, and several container units and motorcycles were blown over.
A significant disruption occurred at the access to Terrassa Hospital, which was partially blocked by a fallen tree. Traffic was also cut at Placeta Saragossa due to broken glass, and damage was reported on Avinguda del Parlament and Carrer de Girona.
Despite the extensive list of incidents, including a collapsed private wall on Carrer de Rioja, authorities confirmed that only material damage has occurred, with no personal injuries reported.
