The Terrassa City Council activated its Municipal Emergency Plan this Thursday as storm Nils brought severe winds, causing fallen trees and significant transport disruptions.

Wind speeds reached 92 km/h in Terrassa, with forecasts predicting gusts over 100 km/h. Firefighters handled thirty calls related to fallen palm trees on Jaume I Avenue and damaged street furniture.
Mayor Jordi Ballart ordered the suspension of all municipal activities, including the Dijous Gras parade. Public parks, libraries, and sports facilities will remain closed to ensure citizen safety.
Transport has been heavily impacted, with Renfe R4 train services suspended towards Manresa. Local TMESA bus routes were diverted due to fallen trees and debris blocking several streets.
