The Institut Forat del Vent is holding its 11th Solidarity Race on Thursday, December 18, adapting the route to urban areas due to access restrictions in Collserola.

The event, organized annually by INS Forat del Vent, is one of the largest sports and charity days in the area, with 1,200 registered participants this year. Students aged 11 and older from eight collaborating educational centers participate, including Institut Banús, Escola Collserola, Institut Gorgs, Escola Carles Buïgas, Institut Pere Calders, Escola Les Fontetes, Institut Jaume Mimó, and Escola Turó de Guiera.

Generating resources for those who need it most

The main objective of the race is solidarity. Runners donate 1 kg of food (prioritizing oil, preserves, milk, and personal hygiene products) which is delivered to the Fundació Banc dels Aliments and managed by Càritas Cerdanyola.
Both races will start and finish at INS Forat del Vent. The organization had to modify the routes, which will now be urban, due to restrictions on accessing Collserola Park following a detected outbreak of African Swine Fever. There will be a long race of 4.8 km (starting at 10:30 a.m.) and a short race of 3 km (starting at 10:40 a.m.).
Before the start, students and technicians from the CFGS of CAR Sant Cugat will guide participants through a warm-up to prevent injuries. The day will conclude around 12 p.m. with the awards ceremony and a hot chocolate gathering in the center's courtyard, supported by the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council, the AMPA, and the Consell Esportiu.
