The Polinyà Town Council and the Platform for the Defence of Public Healthcare have asked CatSalut to establish a rehabilitation service within the municipality, avoiding the need for residents to travel.

The Mayor of Polinyà, Javi Silva, and the Councillor for Health, Ana Sánchez, met yesterday, Thursday, October 22nd, with Ricard Armengol, director of the Vallès Occidental Est Health Sector of CatSalut. Representatives from the Platform for the Defence of Public Healthcare of Polinyà also participated. The objective was to request that rehabilitation services be made available in the municipality, eliminating the need for residents to travel to other towns.
During the meeting, CatSalut explained that a new tender for rehabilitation services will be announced in the coming months and committed to studying the possibility of establishing a rehabilitation point in Polinyà as part of this process.
The proposal was driven by the Platform through a signature collection that gathered nearly 1,700 resident endorsements. In the May council meeting, the local government unanimously approved two institutional declarations supporting these requests. The Town Council views positively CatSalut's openness to the demand, considering it a significant step towards avoiding travel, particularly for the elderly and those with mobility issues.
The next step will be to monitor the process. This opportunity arises from the platform's mobilization and the council's unanimous support. During the meeting, some residents gathered in the square in support of the Platform for Public Healthcare of Polinyà.
