The Rubí council is one of the 79 applicants benefiting from the ARC selective collection promotion grant resolution. These funds are intended to achieve more sustainable management and save natural resources, complying with the objectives established by current regulations.
Although the application was submitted by the Rubí City Council, the initiative has been coordinated by the Consorci de Residus del Vallès Occidental and presented jointly with the cities of Terrassa and Sabadell. The goal is for these three major cities in the Vallès region to develop pilot actions to optimize their waste separation systems.
The execution period for the subsidized actions is 36 months starting from the date of the grant resolution. The maximum funding covered by the ARC is 90% of the accepted amount, meaning the City Council must provide the remaining 10% of the total cost.
For local entities, the ARC prioritized projects that involved a significant change in the selective collection system. The establishment of a fair fee or the limitation of residual waste contribution was also positively assessed.
