The Rubí City Council, Institut Escola Teresa Altet, and Maristes Rubí presented their global citizenship and social transformation initiatives at the I International Congress on Committed and Critical Education, held in Barcelona from January 22 to 24.

The Rubí City Council, through its Cooperation service, detailed its Global Citizenship Education Plan, a model designed to foster active, critical, and committed citizenship aligned with values of justice, sustainability, and coexistence. This plan integrates global principles into both formal and non-formal educational processes, articulating municipal policies and resources.
Teachers and students from the Institut Escola Teresa Altet explained their interdisciplinary work on the School Day of Non-violence and Peace (DENIP), implemented since the 2023-2024 academic year for all ESO students. Students shared personal accounts of their migratory processes, culminating in the book Fem casa, fem refugi, the first volume of the Altet Human Library.
For its part, Maristes Rubí presented the Social and Solidarity Economy Fair at the school, an event promoted by 2nd year Baccalaureate students of Humanities and Social Sciences. The initiative aims to raise awareness of ethical economic initiatives and spark youth interest in fairer economic models.
The congress, promoted by the organization EduAlter in collaboration with the University of Barcelona, brought together over 350 people from 15 countries, including education professionals and representatives from administrations, with the goal of reflecting on global justice and social transformation.
