The Andalusian Association of San Sebastián de los Ballesteros in Catalonia commemorated its half-century of existence this Saturday with a solemn event at the Hotel Urpí in Sabadell, which included the traditional dinner and the presentation of the Cordobán Awards 2026. The event reviewed activities carried out throughout 2025, such as the traditional San Isidro pilgrimage and gastronomic tastings.

The ceremony began with an emotional minute of silence in memory of the victims of the recent railway tragedy in Adamuz (Córdoba), and also for the death of the trainee driver in Gelida. Attendees included the Mayor of Sabadell, Marta Farrés, who highlighted the entity's importance to the city, and the Mayor of San Sebastián de los Ballesteros, Francisco Javier Maestre, recalling the twinning between the two municipalities.

The Cordobán Awards recognized the dedication of members Manuel Ballesteros and Conchi Herruzo, the former mayor of Córdoba, Manuel Pino Luna, for his historical support, and Rafael Aparicio of the Centre d’Estudis Ramar for his social commitment. Additionally, a special recognition was given to the company SMATSA, which also celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, accepted by its manager, Eugenio Díaz.
