Signing of a young goalkeeper for a Catalan football club during the winter market.

CE Sabadell announced the signing of goalkeeper Nil Ruiz, arriving on a free transfer from València Mestalla, to replace José Ortega who is out indefinitely due to a health issue.

The arrival of Nil Ruiz to the Arlequinat squad comes at zero cost, as he transfers from the València reserve team. This move was necessitated by the indefinite absence of second goalkeeper, José Ortega, who is sidelined due to a non-sporting health problem with no set return date.

José Ortega's indefinite absence due to a non-sporting health issue forced the club to find a last-minute reinforcement.

The new signing, originally from Sant Boi, is immediately available for coach Ferran Costa and joins previous winter signings Xavi Moreno and Alan Godoy. Ruiz will occupy one of the vacant U-23 slots in the Sabadell roster.
Nil Ruiz's background is unusual, as he did not fully commit to football until the Cadet category, having previously played tennis. After standing out at clubs like Damm, he signed with Barça Atlètic in the 2022-2023 season before moving to the València reserve team. His contract with CE Sabadell runs until 2027.
