The match started with an early goal from Nacho Quintana for the hosts in the 6th minute, forcing Ferran Costa's men to play catch-up from the start. The Arlequinat coach made changes to the starting lineup, bringing in Eneko Aguilar and recovering Alan Godoy up front, who was cautioned and played close to the limit during the first half.
After a first half dominated by the hosts, Sabadell reacted after the break with the introduction of Xavi Moreno for the cautioned Godoy. Their persistence paid off in the 72nd minute when Genar Fornés equalized at close range following a great play by Priego down the right wing.
The points margin at the top of the table is significantly reduced, leaving Sabadell with only a three-point lead over Atlético Madrileño and Eldense themselves.
Just when it seemed Sabadell might complete the comeback, CD Eldense struck again in the 86th minute. Once more, Nacho Quintana capitalized on a defensive rebound to score the decisive 2-1. The visitors claimed a possible penalty on Miguelete and a foul on Coscia late in the game, but referee Rubén Ruipérez did not penalize either action.
Despite the defeat, Ferran Costa's team remains top of the table, although their margin is reduced to three points over Atlético Madrileño and Eldense, who also win the head-to-head goal difference. Next week, CE Sabadell will visit UD Ibiza.
