The 2026 Carnival in Sant Cugat del Vallès now has its five official guidelines, known as the Ensoltes, which were developed by the Consell d’Infants (Children's Council) and the Consell de Joves (Youth Council) for the festive week running from February 9 to 13.

The guidelines, validated by the Gall de Carnaval (Carnival Rooster), aim to encourage active citizen participation with proposals suitable for all ages. The drafting process took place over recent weeks in joint working sessions where children and young people debated and reached a consensus on the final ideas, also incorporating suggestions from some local schools.
The five Ensoltes propose an original head accessory on Monday, February 9; wearing single-color clothing on Tuesday 10; replacing the backpack with a creative alternative on Wednesday 11; wearing elegant clothing on Thursday 12, and closing the week on Friday 13 with a free costume.
The instructions were formally delivered to the Comissió de Carnaval (Carnival Commission) via a video that can now be viewed on municipal channels and the Carnaval Instagram. Furthermore, the Consell de Joves will work throughout the year to create an activity specifically aimed at young people for the 2027 Carnival program, seeking to increase youth participation in the celebration.
