The anti-capitalist party warns that the Generalitat's agreement to subsidize 70% of places is uncertain and could take years to materialize.

The CUP has denounced that the new elderly residence project in Volpelleres, promoted by the Sant Cugat City Council and managed by Fundació Vallparadís, will be predominantly private initially.

The Sant Cugat City Council, governed by Junts and ERC, ceded municipal land to the Fundació Vallparadís (MútuaTerrassa) through a public tender to build and manage a facility with 120 residential places and 30 day center places for 75 years.

"It is closer to being the eleventh private residence than the second public residence."

The 'cupaires' point out that the Municipal Government's commitment to apply for Generalitat calls to subsidize 70% of the residential places is an “hope without certainties.” They recall that, according to the executive itself, Sant Cugat is not a priority area for concertation, and the process could take years.
The anti-capitalist formation calls the City Council's description of the residence as “public-private” a “deception to the citizenry,” since until concertation is achieved, the places will cost approximately 2,500 euros per month, a figure they deem unaffordable for many residents.
