The DSV Club Voleibol Sant Cugat team, participating since the 2021-2022 season, will begin its run in the Copa de la Reina tournament in Tenerife on Friday, January 23, facing CV Emalsa Gran Canaria in the quarterfinals.

The red-and-blacks, who will play the competition in Tenerife, aim to surpass their best historical performance, which was reaching the semifinals in 2024. The tournament, which gathers the top teams of the Liga Iberdrola, officially kicks off on Thursday, January 22.

"We arrive at the Copa de la Reina with great enthusiasm and eagerness to perform well. Our opponent has a lot of experience and will make things difficult for us, so we will try to do our best. We want to win the first match, and from there, we will look ahead, but the first challenge is CV Emalsa Gran Canaria in the quarterfinals."

Joshua Pérez · DSV Club Voleibol Sant Cugat Coach
The coach of the Sant Cugat squad, Joshua Pérez, stressed that the absolute priority is overcoming the first knockout round. This match is expected to be balanced, as both teams are currently tied on points in the national top division, although DSV Club Voleibol Sant Cugat won the first-round league match 3-1.
Should they win, the Catalan team would face the winner of the match between Heidelberg-Volkswagen and CV Melilla in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, the matchups include Avarca de Menorca versus Arenal Emevé, and OCISA Haro Rioja Voley against Fundación Cajasol Andalucía.
