The Association of Children's Families (AFI) of the Gerbert d’Orlhac school in Sant Cugat del Vallès is skeptical about the institutional agreement announced on January 28, 2026 to resolve the persistent water leaks affecting the center.

The AFI has expressed its distrust regarding the agreement between the Sant Cugat City Council and the Generalitat (Catalan Government) to carry out structural work. The families deny that there has been continuous monitoring of the problem by the administration, as the latter had claimed.

"Now they have started rushing, and last week they came several times."

The families emphasize that it has been they themselves and the school management who have had to constantly pressure the institutions to take action. The entity regrets the lack of a clear protocol and consistency in the maintenance of municipal public schools.

"We have to keep chasing the City Council to get them moving."

According to Yago Raventós, spokesperson for the families, the announced action comes after decades of complaints. Raventós stresses that previous interventions had only served to “put out fires,” without addressing the underlying structural problem causing repeated leaks in the building.
Although they consider the agreement positive on paper, the families demand that it be accompanied by a clear calendar of actions and control mechanisms to ensure that the situations experienced in recent years do not happen again.
