The Civil Guard and the Mossos d'Esquadra searched the IRTA-CReSA laboratory in Bellaterra this Thursday morning, as part of secret preliminary proceedings related to the African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak affecting Sant Cugat.

The search was ordered by the Court of Instruction number 2 of Cerdanyola del Vallès, according to a press release issued by the Civil Guard. The preliminary proceedings have been declared secret, limiting the available information regarding the specific objectives of the operation.
The operation involved two units of the Mossos d'Esquadra and three units of the Civil Guard. Approximately ten agents secured the exterior of the building in Bellaterra while the search of the facilities, which began around 9:00 AM, was underway.
The Catalan police officers involved in the raid belong to the Central Consumer Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division and the Environmental Investigation Division, highlighting the focus of the investigation on potential infractions related to the management of the ASF epidemic.
