The city of Sant Cugat del Vallès demonstrated its solidarity during the weekend of December 14, raising nearly 8,000 euros for the 34th edition of La Marató de 3Cat, which focuses on cancer research.

The figure of 8,000 euros was achieved through a wide range of activities that mobilized the local community. One of the most prominent initiatives was the Country Dance organized by Qgat Country with the Orquestra Fusió Sant Cugat, held on Saturday, December 13, at Ramon Barnils Park, which contributed 1,779.10 euros.
Sports played a key role. The Escola de Patinatge Artístic Sant Cugat held its Christmas Festival with the participation of about eighty skaters, raising approximately 1,500 euros. Furthermore, the Valldoreix Solidarity Mile celebrated its ninth edition with over 500 participants, collecting around 2,400 euros.

The 34th edition of La Marató de 3Cat, under the slogan "Detect it, fix it," closed with a global tally of 9,741,627 euros, earmarked for cancer prevention and research.

Schools were also actively involved. The Institut FP Sant Cugat sold cookies, salt, and keychains in Plaça d'Octavià, raising 435 euros. The L'Olivera school organized a Quinto de Nadal (Christmas Bingo) and a hot chocolate event (700 euros), while the AFA Collserola gathered 1,173.33 euros through a solidarity cantata and a Christmas fair.
It should be noted that the total figure for Sant Cugat could still increase, as initiatives such as the sale of Christmas gifts and the solidarity hot chocolate event by Escola Thau Sant Cugat are still pending.
