The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) has activated a level 1 out of 6 snow danger warning for the Vallès Occidental region for the entire day of January 5. This instability, which began on Sunday, could bring clouds, weak precipitation, and snow at unusually low altitudes.
As a preventive measure, the Sant Cugat City Council cleaning teams have been mobilized to spread salt at the entrances of health centers, civic centers, and nursing homes. Snowplow blades have also been installed on emergency vehicles in case the situation worsens.
Although it is an unlikely scenario, the very specific possibility of snow at altitudes close to 200 meters cannot be completely ruled out.
The detailed forecasts for the Parade time slot (between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.) indicate a mostly cloudy sky with a risk of light and intermittent rain. Temperatures will be distinctly wintry, expected to hover between 5 and 6 degrees Celsius, emphasizing the cold sensation during Their Majesties' procession.
