The race, celebrating its ninth edition, registered a participation record with 544 inscriptions, as confirmed by Oriol Gràcia, the event director. Gràcia highlighted that citizen involvement "is growing" and emphasized the event's link to the solidarity cause of La Marató, dedicated this year to the fight against cancer.
“"The Mile has been growing exponentially, and it is already a tradition in Valldoreix and Sant Cugat. It should also be noted that it is the activity linked to La Marató that has the most participation and fundraising in Sant Cugat."
The president of the EMD de Valldoreix, Juanjo Cortés, defined the event as a "family celebration, of solidarity, and of the people of Valldoreix". Cortés expressed pride that this activity records the highest participation in the entire municipality of Sant Cugat, indicating that "we are on the right track and people are eager to be supportive."
Regarding the sports results of the Open category, the male winner was Josep Díaz, from Runners Espanyol, followed by Ot López, from Club Muntanyenc Sant Cugat, and Aleix Cabanach. In the female category, the victory went to Ivet Farriols, from T3 Team, with Maria Casado (Atletisme Parets) in second place and Sandra Jiménez (AT Cerdanyola) completing the podium.
The organization is already preparing for the tenth edition, aiming to continue surpassing expectations. Juanjo Cortés stated that, after exceeding 500 registered participants, the new challenge is to reach 600, while maintaining the main objective of contributing to the causes supported by La Marató de TV3 throughout Catalonia.
