The gathering, part of the Elderly People's Month, fostered community and enjoyment with a meal and dancing. Initially planned for the annex of the municipal sports center, the lunch had to be moved indoors to the community center due to adverse weather conditions, which did not prevent high participation.
The mayor, Elisabeth Oliveras, welcomed attendees, thanking them for their flexibility regarding the venue change and highlighting the active participation of the elderly in the municipality's life. "More and more elderly people are staying active and participating in various initiatives. Therefore, today is a day of fellowship, to be enjoyed," she stated.
The meal was served by the staff of L’Amanidor, an initiative linked to CIPO that creates employment opportunities for individuals facing challenges in accessing the job market.
After the meal, the group Cafè Trio provided music for the event. Many attendees joined in dancing to current hits and classic tunes, creating a relaxed and participatory atmosphere.
The Elderly People's Lunch is part of the Elderly People's Month program, which offers various recreational, cultural, and participatory activities for this demographic.
