The Santa Perpètua City Council has installed a pedagogical radar in Plaça Nova to measure traffic volume and peak hours before the reform of the civic axes.

Since October 13th, a pedagogical radar has been operational in Plaça Nova in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda. The City Council's Mobility Department has implemented this measure with the primary objective of collecting data on the number of vehicles circulating in the area and identifying peak traffic times.
This data will be crucial for the upcoming project to transform the civic and commercial axes, which includes Plaça Nova and sections of Montseny, Santa Maria, Sant Pau, and Frederic Soler streets.
According to Albert Bonàs, councilor for Mobility, the information obtained will allow for before-and-after comparisons following the reform, contributing to enhanced road safety and project improvement. Although the radar informs drivers of their speed, its installation at this location is not primarily for speed enforcement.
The device is mobile and is expected to be placed in various locations throughout the municipality to gain a comprehensive understanding of mobility patterns. It has previously been used on Lluís Companys and de la Mestra streets.
