Nina Ten Broek, a water polo player for the first team of Club Natació Terrassa, has been crowned European Champion with the Netherlands national team at the Women's European Championship held in Funchal (Portugal).
The Dutch team successfully defended the continental title after defeating Hungary 15-13 in the penalty shootout, following a 10-10 draw at the end of regulation time.
The victory solidifies the Dutch national team as one of the great powers in continental women's water polo with their seventh European title.
The final was marked by intensity and parity, with constant score changes until the resolution from five meters, where the Netherlands proved infallible. This triumph expands the national team's record, adding their seventh European title.
