The Terrassa Bar Association (ICATER) held the 2025 Human Rights Awards ceremony on Friday, December 12, recognizing the work of Rafael Gázquez and the Fundació Educativa Terrassa.

The event, which took place at Sala Crespi, became an emotional tribute to the lawyer Rafael Gázquez, who was posthumously awarded the Committed Advocacy Prize. The distinction highlighted his professional and human trajectory in the service of justice and the defense of fundamental rights.
Furthermore, the Solidarity Prize was granted to the Fundació Educativa Terrassa for its continuous commitment to the defense of human rights. The dean of ICATER, Carmen Oriol, and the president of the Human Rights Defense Commission, Jordi Estapé, presided over the ceremony.
As is customary, the event included a prestigious conference. This year, journalist Joan Carles Peris, head of the International Section of TV3, offered a presentation titled Europa: ni la guerra és inevitable, ni la pau, impossible, where he analyzed current geopolitical tensions and their impact on human rights.
Finally, during the ceremony, the 2025 Free Justice Diploma was also presented to lawyer Josep Boada. This recognition underscores his dedication and commitment to the Duty Shift and Assistance to Detainees, a fundamental task for guaranteeing universal access to justice.
