The owner of the Momotaro restaurant in Valldoreix, Adrià Bernades, reports a €100,000 loss in revenue since summer after the EMD ordered the establishment to close at 11 PM due to neighbor complaints.

The decision by the Decentralized Municipal Entity of Valldoreix (EMD) to instruct the restaurant, located in a municipally owned premises, to close an hour earlier (from 12 AM to 11 PM) was made following complaints from a neighbor regarding noise and bad smells.

"If you don't want to have the restaurant here, just say so."

The EMD's Commerce representative, Susanna Casta, has described the situation as “unacceptable” and stated the administration's commitment to keeping the restaurant open. The proposed solution involves separating the management of the interior premises from the terrace.
Casta is confident that this separation will allow the interior dining area to remain open until 1 AM, hoping to find the legal framework “very soon”. Regarding the terrace, the situation is more complicated as it depends on Sant Cugat regulations, which could delay the resolution.
In addition to the reduced hours, the file opened by the EMD has required the restaurant to carry out several improvements valued at over €6,000. Representative Casta has expressed doubts about the closure order and is awaiting a technical solution from municipal staff.
