Page Xiu-Xiu, Terrassa's beloved royal emissary, will celebrate his 75th anniversary with a grand parade on December 26 culminating at the Raval de Montserrat square.

The Centre Cultural El Social presented the events commemorating the 75 years of this key local heritage figure on Thursday, December 18. The organizing entity, through its president Ricard Figueres, highlighted that Page Xiu-Xiu is one of the “most beloved figures” by adults and children in the city.

"He is a figure with 100% Terrassa DNA and forms part of the collective heritage that identifies us as a city."

The official arrival of the Page will be on December 26 at 6 PM at the Estació del Nord (North Station). From there, the parade will proceed to Raval de Montserrat, where he will be received by the Àliga (Eagle), deliver the welcome speech, and collect the first letters. Notably, near Font Vella, he will be joined by the Gegants de Terrassa (Giants of Terrassa), who are also celebrating an anniversary, and will accompany him to the City Hall.
Following the parade, Page Xiu-Xiu will begin fifteen scheduled visits across the city's seven districts between December 27 and January 4. Additionally, downtown merchants have organized a scavenger hunt in their shop windows to honor him.
One of this year's big surprises is the inclusion of a Xiu-Xiu figurine inside the traditional Three Kings' Cakes (Roscón de Reyes), as revealed by Fanny Novell, president of the Association of Bakers and Pastry Chefs of Terrassa and Comarca. These figurines, which will add a touch of “fantasy and excitement,” were commissioned from a vulnerable Bolivian community, adding a social component to the tradition. The storybook created for the 50th anniversary will also be re-edited and distributed during the district visits.
