Currently, the center of Terrassa is divided into six distinct zones (such as Plaça Vella, Vapor Gran, or Antic Poble de Sant Pere), each with specific regulations. Upon the new rules coming into force, the map will be reduced to three major areas: Centre Area, Plaça Vella (which maintains its configuration), and Seu d’Ègara. Fines for driving without authorization will be 200 euros.
“"we are not creating a new regulation, but rather organizing and unifying the existing one to have a more understandable, fair, and easy-to-manage rule."
The restructuring will also allow the unification of loading and unloading (DUM) and home delivery schedules, facilitating the work of transporters. Furthermore, a system of 52 annual authorizations (an average of one per week) will be enabled for non-resident vehicles, covering specific needs such as bulky purchases or medical visits.
This new permit system, replacing the old Dona Pas formula, will be entirely online and is noted for its flexibility. Permits can be requested up to 24 hours before access or regularized up to 72 hours afterward, avoiding sanctions in cases of urgency. Control will be maintained using eleven license plate reading cameras at the area entrances.
