Following repeated requests from the Viladecavalls City Council, the Generalitat has launched repair works to improve the C-58z bridge crossing the Gaià stream. As communicated by Infraestructures de la Generalitat to the council, the work begins this week.
The project aims to repair deteriorated parts of the structure, renew the shoulder pavement, and replace the railing on the north side. Additionally, the embankment supporting the bridge on the Sant Miquel side will be reinforced with anchors and protective riprap, and the drainage system will be improved.
The works are expected to last approximately six months. A significant portion of the work will be carried out from underneath the bridge, using scaffolding and specialized machinery. The project has obtained the necessary permits from the Catalan Water Agency (Agència Catalana de l'Aigua) to operate in the stream's vicinity.
During the construction period, occasional traffic disruptions may occur.
