The Viladecavalls City Council, with the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council, has launched a new support and mutual aid group for family members and caregivers of individuals affected by Alzheimer's or other dementias.

The initiative, which begins on January 14th, offers a safe space to share experiences, resolve doubts, and address the emotional and daily challenges associated with caregiving tasks. The aim is also to provide tools for daily coping, establish connections with others facing similar circumstances, and combat feelings of loneliness.
The sessions will be led by Maria García, a psychologist from the Support and Mutual Aid Group of the Association of Family Members of People with Alzheimer's and other Dementias of Barcelona. García will provide professional guidance and facilitate the exchange of experiences among participants.
The group will meet every Thursday, from January 14th to March 18th, 2027, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, at the Paco Cano Civic Center. Participation is free of charge.
Interested individuals can contact the Social Welfare service of the Viladecavalls City Council for more information and to register by calling +34 93 788 71 41 (extension 9114, option 2) or by sending an email to serveissocials@viladecavalls.cat.
