With the slogan «Do you like shopping in town?», residents are encouraged to express their views on the commercial and catering establishments in the municipality. The initiative is part of a comprehensive study by Pimec Comerç Vallès Oriental, which has already involved over 200 people connected to the local commercial sector.
Questionnaires can be accessed by scanning a QR code on posters distributed in shops, or in printed format at establishments, municipal facilities, the Town Hall, and the offices of La Piqueta. The deadline for participation is the end of October.
This socioeconomic and commercial study aims to produce a diagnosis of local commerce to define a strategic plan. The Provincial Council of Barcelona is funding this action, part of the «Local action plan for commerce in Caldes de Montbui», to anticipate generational succession and develop revitalization policies.
The study also includes the creation of a census of commercial activities by street and commercial axis, with the aim of regulating future uses and ensuring a commercial mix that enhances and revitalizes the main streets of Caldes. Furthermore, it seeks to identify needs, improvement opportunities, and promote actions for growth, employment, and investment.
This initiative is one of the first actions stemming from the framework agreement between the Town Hall and Pimec Vallès Oriental, presented on June 17th, to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs and self-employed individuals and foster the economic development of the municipality through advice, training, and business promotion.
