On Saturday, October 3rd, at 12 PM, the football field in Canovelles will host the plaque unveiling ceremony that will name the sports facility after Antonio Hidalgo Morilla.
During the council meeting on July 28th, the Canovelles City Council unanimously approved the proposal presented by UE Canovelles to honor the local coach. The Councilor for Sports, Alberto Hidalgo Morilla, recused himself from the debate and vote due to his family ties with the honoree.
Antonio Hidalgo is currently the coach of Deportivo de la Coruña, with whom he achieved promotion to La Liga. His playing career includes teams such as FC Barcelona B, Málaga CF, Real Zaragoza, CA Osasuna, and CD Tenerife. As a coach, he has managed Sevilla Atlético and SD Huesca.
The plaque unveiling ceremony will be attended by the mayor of Canovelles, Emilio Cordero Soria; the Councilor for Sports, Alberto Hidalgo Morilla, and the honoree himself, Antonio Hidalgo Morilla.
