The plaque unveiling ceremony served to pay tribute to the sporting career of Antonio Hidalgo Morilla and to officialize the naming of the sports facility, which was unanimously approved by the Municipal Council.
The event was attended by various authorities, including the mayor of Canovelles, Emilio Cordero; the Councilor for Sports, Alberto Hidalgo; the delegate of the Catalan Football Federation, Carlos Lopa; and Antonio Hidalgo himself, who expressed his emotion at the recognition.
The mayor highlighted that the proposal, originating from the Unió Esportiva Canovelles and supported by all municipal groups, recognizes not only Hidalgo's sporting achievements but also his effort, work, and deep connection to the town.
Antonio Hidalgo, visibly moved, thanked them for the recognition, associating it with his origins and upbringing. He emphasized the importance of hard work and effort in achieving goals and encouraged young people to pursue their dreams.
The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the commemorative plaque and an aperitif for attendees at the football field entrance.
