The festival, centered on nature and art, uses art as a language to reflect on our relationship with the environment and territory. For five days prior to the inauguration, artists will undertake a creative residency at the Sant Hilari site, creating installations in an outdoor exhibition area of 23,250 m2.
The works can be visited from October 5th, the start date of the creative residency, until October 17th. The festival includes an extensive program of activities throughout the two weekends.
With artistic direction by Pilar Ors and Julio Borg, the festival collaborates with the Museu Arxiu Tomàs Balvey de Cardedeu and Tèxtil Rase, Fàbrica de Cultura, supported by the Ajuntament de Cardedeu, the Diputació de Barcelona, and the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
This edition particularly highlights artistic creation from the 1980s and 1990s, featuring a round table with participants Perejaume, Joan Casellas, and Rosa Cerarols, as well as the screening of the documentary “Fina Miralles. Jo soc totes les que he sigut”.
The Hilari(um) Festival was established in September 2022 as a biannual event aiming to promote new perspectives in visual arts within the region, starting from the nature-art binomial and reflecting on our relationship with the environment.
