The Special Plan for Flood Emergencies in Catalonia (INUNCAT) remains on alert due to a new episode of rain expected to last 24 hours starting this Monday.

Civil Protection of the Generalitat has activated the alert for the Special Plan for Flood Emergencies in Catalonia (INUNCAT) due to the forecast of intense rainfall. The Meteorological Service of Catalonia predicts general precipitation throughout Catalonia starting this Monday, with strong showers particularly in the eastern half, the coast and pre-coastal areas, Central Catalonia, and the central and eastern Pyrenees and pre-Pyrenees.
The rainfall could be locally torrential, especially from Monday midday until Tuesday early morning along the coast and pre-coastal areas, where up to 60 liters per square meter could accumulate in 3 hours. These precipitations may be accompanied by thunderstorms and, in some locations, severe weather phenomena.
Civil Protection reminds the public of the importance of taking precautions in case of heavy rain.
