The AP-7 highway section between Hostalric and la Roca del Vallès has emerged as a major accident hotspot with 16 fatalities recorded throughout 2025.

According to the Catalan Transit Service, the Girona region ended the year with 22 deaths on interurban roads, matching the previous year's figures. This represents an 18.5% decrease compared to 2019 data.
The removal of tolls continues to impact AP-7 safety, with 17 total deaths this year. While speed limits helped achieve zero fatalities between la Roca del Vallès and Parets del Vallès, other areas like Selva remain high-risk zones.
Motorcyclists remain the most vulnerable group, accounting for over 31% of road deaths in Catalonia. Authorities plan to increase speed controls and Mossos d'Esquadra patrols in 2026 to improve road safety.
