The city is already displaying signage for the restrictions that will accompany the start of the third stage of the Tour de France from Granollers. The City Council anticipates the arrival of approximately 5,000 people, including fans and professionals, on the day of the race.
The official start is set for Monday, July 6th, at 12:10 PM on Ramon Llull street. However, the initial impacts, primarily concerning parking, will commence on Thursday, July 2nd, at 10 PM in areas close to the race route. 430 parking spaces will be removed at the Ramon Llull street car park, which will host the Village, and parking will also be restricted on adjacent streets in the Ponent neighborhood and around the Recinte Firal. In total, 2,865 parking spaces are expected to be eliminated due to the route, race infrastructure, or press and organization vehicles.
“"All these spaces will reopen on Monday at 6 PM, when it is expected that all race infrastructure will have been dismantled."
To compensate for the restricted zones, from Friday, July 3rd, at 8 PM, green and blue parking zones in the affected areas will be free until Monday, July 6th, at 8 PM. Additionally, the Blaus and Sot car parks will offer free parking from Friday at 9 PM until Monday at 9 PM, requiring prior registration. Negotiations are underway with ADIF for the cession of land for additional parking.
Free parking will also be available at the Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya, with a shuttle bus service to the city center for followers arriving by car.
Vehicle and pedestrian traffic restrictions will begin on Sunday, July 5th, at 10 PM. From 6 AM on Monday, passage will only be permitted through designated points until 9 AM for vehicles and 11:45 AM for pedestrians. Driveways within the route will remain operational until 6 AM on Monday.
Bus line 3 will be canceled, and the Generalitat is finalizing modifications for other lines. Rodalies commuter trains will not experience any disruptions.
The Councilor for Sports, Álvaro Ferrer, stated that medical services have been asked to avoid non-urgent appointments and businesses to reduce mobility, recommending teleworking in industrial areas. Schools and summer camps have also been asked to organize accordingly. Furthermore, goods delivery should be minimized, using vehicles under 3.5 tons for essential fresh produce.
Waste containers in the delimited zones will be removed from Sunday at 3 PM until Monday at 8 PM.
