A serious accident at turn 10 of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya forced the interruption of the Catalunya MotoGP Grand Prix. Catalan rider Àlex Márquez was taken to the hospital following the collision.

The Catalunya MotoGP Grand Prix race in Montmeló was stopped with a red flag due to a serious incident at turn 10. The accident involved riders Àlex Márquez and Pedro Acosta, after the latter experienced a mechanical issue with his bike that caused him to suddenly reduce speed.
Àlex Márquez, riding for Gresini, could not avoid Acosta's KTM and was violently thrown off the track at high speed, just before entering the stadium area. Di Giannantonio was also affected in the collision, hit by a tire that flew off Márquez's bike.
The Catalan rider received prompt medical assistance, and race direction confirmed he was conscious. After being attended at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya medical center, Márquez was evacuated by ambulance to the Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya. Initial reports suggest a possible collarbone injury.
