The Mayor of Caldes de Montbui, Isidre Pineda, champions thermalism as a sustainable tourism model that contributes nearly 50 million euros annually to the local economy and creates 360 direct jobs.

The town is currently leading scientific research with Hospital del Mar to prove the health benefits of thermal waters, specifically regarding breast cancer recovery. Results are expected by 2026. Additionally, the council is studying how to generate electricity from the town's naturally hot springs.

"Thermalism is a sustainable and responsible tourism model because it is based on a natural resource."

Infrastructure remains a priority with a 15 million euro investment in the C-59 highway to improve safety and public transport. On the historical front, Caldes has requested the return of 48,000 euros seized during the Franco regime as an act of democratic justice.
