The Les Franqueses City Council has brought the 2027 Fiscal Ordinances to initial approval in the municipal plenary session. These ordinances limit the general increase to 2.4%, below the annual IPC of 4%, and expand social bonuses. The objective is to cover municipal needs with prudence and minimize the economic impact on citizens. Mayor Juan Antonio Corchado Ponce highlighted "economic prudence, responsibility, and sensitivity to the difficulties that many families and businesses are still facing," arguing that municipal taxation must allow for the maintenance of quality services without ignoring the impact on residents.
Key points include the expansion of social tariffs, incentives for renewable energies, and a fairer waste fee. Maximum income levels to access social bonuses for services such as the Municipal Music School, Municipal Nurseries, sports activities, and summer camps are increased by 10%. Councillor for Finance, Marta Reche Lavado, emphasized that "a family's economic situation should not become a barrier to accessing municipal services," positioning equal opportunities as a priority.
To encourage the use of renewable energies, the 50% IBI (Property Tax) bonus for 5 years for single-family and multi-family homes with photovoltaic installations is extended, lowering the power threshold to 0.5 kilowatts. A specific 50% bonus is also created for new installations linked to energy communities, both domestic and industrial. Bonuses for ICIO (Construction, Installations, and Works Tax) for environmental energy capture systems are limited to self-consumption.
The new waste fee, linked to smart bins, will be adjusted according to the number of residents per household to calculate domestic charges. Based on the principle of "whoever generates more, contributes more," domestic and commercial tariffs are revised. For a non-rural dwelling up to 100 square meters, the fixed fee for 2027 will range from 183.32 euros (1 person) to 254.81 euros (7 or more people). The variable part, linked to correct recycling, will not increase the basic fee. Reductions are also applied to the fee for commercial premises, parking lots, associative and cultural activities, offices, and non-food shops.
Most public prices are updated by 2.4%, but prices are frozen for some sports activities (Popular Walk, Senior Walks, Sports Night) and environmental education workshops. The 2027 Fiscal Ordinances, initially approved on October 15th, will be available for public inspection from October 20th.
