The Les Franqueses City Council will allocate 2,000,000 euros from the 2025 treasury surplus to repair damage caused by the floods. The Delegate of the Spanish Government in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto Gómez, has announced that state aid lines will be opened.

The Les Franqueses City Council is preparing to approve an initial investment of 2,000,000 euros from the 2025 treasury surplus for the repair of damage caused by the storm. The total cost of the damage is still being assessed, and further investments are expected soon. The local administration is working with other institutions to secure all necessary funds.
The mayor of Les Franqueses, Juan Antonio Corchado Ponce, participated this Wednesday in a meeting with the Delegate of the Spanish Government in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto Gómez, organized by the Vallès Oriental Regional Council. During the meeting, attended by mayors from affected municipalities, Prieto announced the intention to declare the area as severely affected by a civil protection emergency, which will enable the activation of extraordinary state aid.
The Delegate assured that the declaration will be made shortly and that, subsequently, town councils will be informed about available aid channels, application procedures, and corresponding amounts. Mayor Corchado positively assessed the support from the State, the Generalitat, and the Diputació, highlighting the importance of this backing for the severe damage. He clarified that, despite the processing of external contributions, the City Council is working intensely on recovery, mentioning the Can Suquet bridge as a complex example.
With this initial investment, Les Franqueses is focusing on repairing affected infrastructure and roads, as well as restoring damaged services. In parallel, the total economic impact of the damage and pending repairs is being evaluated.
