The Mollet del Vallès City Council has consolidated the Mentora project, an initiative by the Fundació Bofill, to strengthen the educational support for the municipality's youth and prevent early school leaving.

The program, implemented since the 2024-2025 academic year, currently involves nine mentoring pairs formed by young people and volunteer mentors, referred from the Mollet and Vicenç Plantada institutes. These relationships are built on trust and involve weekly meetings held at various municipal facilities such as the Centre Cultural La Marineta, the library, the Centre Cívic Can Borrell, and the CIRD Joana Barcala.
The goal of this personalized support is to contribute to the personal, academic, and social development of the young participants. The City Council's Punt Mentora, coordinated by the Community Action team of Social Services, supports the mentors, maintains contact with families and educational centers, and organizes complementary activities.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the aim is to expand the number of available places and extend the project to more educational centers in the municipality, solidifying it as a key tool for promoting equal opportunities and educational success for young people.
The Mentora project continues to seek volunteers, with no prior educational experience required, who wish to accompany a young person. Interested individuals can get in touch via the link [Become a volunteer – Mentora](https://www.mentora.cat/fes-voluntariat/).
The program's results have been highly positive, with 100% of participating young people remaining engaged in their educational path. Most mentoring pairs will continue next academic year, except for those completing the program's two-year cycle.
Over the years, participating pairs have engaged in various initiatives, including joint visits to the Saló de l'Ensenyament, volleyball tournaments, and talks. Notably, Gissela Chávez, a mentor and resident of Mollet, was selected to visit the European Parliament.
