The Xerrem program is back in Mollet del Vallès to foster Catalan learning and social cohesion through free conversation groups.

The Xerrem program offers open and free Catalan conversation groups, led by volunteers, for individuals who do not speak the language or lack fluency. This initiative aims not only to improve basic oral Catalan skills but also to promote social cohesion in the municipality, foster knowledge and appreciation of the region, encourage intercultural dialogue, strengthen the welcoming community, and empower participants personally.
Since 2022, the Mollet del Vallès City Council, through its Social Services Community Team, has collaborated with the CAL (Coordination of Associations for the Catalan Language) to promote these social Catalan conversation spaces within the municipality. To date, several groups have been established, involving 16 young people and 44 adults interested in learning or improving the language.
Currently, the project has two trained volunteers from CAL who facilitate the social conversation groups. During the 2025-2026 academic year, two Xerrem groups were held at the Center for Adult Education (CFA) in Mollet del Vallès, with the participation of 22 individuals.
Individuals interested in volunteering for the project can get in touch via phone at 626 417 028 or 626 354 721 (call or WhatsApp).
