The Montornès City Council has launched the #SomExemple campaign to foster a safer and more responsible 2026 Festival, focusing on preventing underage alcohol consumption and training for businesses and organizations.

Once again, the Montornès City Council has launched a campaign to inform establishments about the prohibition of selling alcoholic beverages to minors. This week, about ten representatives from organizations and businesses attended a course to contribute to a safer, more inclusive, and responsible Festival.
With the aim of promoting prevention and awareness regarding alcohol consumption for the 2026 Festival, the #SomExemple initiative is the result of joint work between the municipal departments of Coexistence and Civility, Public Health, Citizen Participation, and Feminism and Diversities, as well as the Critical Plan of the Mancomunitat del Galzeran.
Municipal staff and the Critical Plan team visited around sixty catering establishments and food shops to provide them with informational posters and campaign identifiers for their business entrances. Emphasis is placed on the prohibition of selling alcohol to individuals under 18, reminding establishments of the legal sanctions for non-compliance, which include fines ranging from 3,005 to 15,025 euros. It is also recommended to avoid glass-bottled drinks during celebrations and to promote hydration through water consumption.
In parallel, the program “Les entitats al dia” (Organizations Up to Date) has begun with a course aimed at a safer, more inclusive, and responsible Festival. About ten representatives from local associations and businesses participated in the training at the Hotel d’Entitats, covering topics such as the prevention of sexist violence, responsible alcohol consumption, and food safety.
These actions are part of the process to obtain the Q de Festa quality seal, a recognition awarded by the General Directorate of Addictions of the Secretariat of Public Health of Catalonia to municipalities that organize preventive activities during their festivals. The campaign also includes the installation of information tents and the distribution of water fountains and reusable cups.
