The railway company Renfe has launched a provisional bus service connecting the stations of La Garriga (Vallès Oriental) and Puigcerdà (Cerdanya). This measure, which will run concurrently with the train service, aims primarily to ensure passenger mobility on this section of the R3 line, which has experienced several disruptions in recent days.
Buses will operate hourly from La Garriga, with departures from 5:25 AM to 10:25 PM. From Puigcerdà, the service will run every two hours, operating from 5:35 AM to 7:35 PM. According to Renfe, this logistical arrangement addresses the immediate mobility needs of the line's users.
The disruptions on the railway network have been mainly attributed to cable thefts at various points along the line and the fall of a tree onto the tracks during episodes of intense rainfall. Furthermore, the track doubling works between Parets del Vallès and La Garriga also affect train circulation, which in this section is exclusively handled by buses.
Rodalies (Catalan commuter rail) advises passengers to plan their journeys in advance and check the schedules for both trains and the alternative bus service to minimize potential inconvenience.
