After eleven seasons with the club, the right winger and current captain of Fraikin BM Granollers, Sergi Franco, has announced he will not continue with the team for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign. This decision marks the end of a long career linked to the Granollers-based team.
Franco expressed his feelings towards the club: "Granollers has been my home for 11 years. I have grown here as a player and as a person, and I have been able to fulfill dreams that seemed impossible when I was young. I leave with the peace of mind of having given my all every day for the white and blue colors. BM Granollers will always be a part of me".
The winger joined the cadet category and, after completing his training, debuted with the first team in the 2018/19 season. For eight seasons, he has been a fundamental player for the team, both on and off the court.
In his record with the first team, Franco has played 219 official matches and scored 564 goals. Furthermore, he has played a significant role in the EHF European League, where he scored 45 goals this past season. He was part of the team that achieved the runner-up position in this European competition in 2023, a historic achievement for the club.
