The third deputy mayor of Granollers, Martí Pujadas (PSC), is under investigation for a workshop held during the 2024 Festa Major that simulated the making of Molotov cocktails to throw at effigies representing the police.

The Instruction Court of Granollers, Section 3, has opened an investigation into Martí Pujadas, who was the Culture Councillor at the time of the events. The case focuses on a workshop held in August 2024, where participants were invited to create simulated Molotov cocktails to use against figures representing police officers.
Pujadas is scheduled to appear in court on May 5 for an alleged case of defamation. The prosecution is also considering the possibility of aggravated public disorder. In addition to the councillor, three members of the 'Blaus' group, who organized the activity, are also under investigation.
Initially, the judge had provisionally closed the case, but the prosecution appealed the decision, requesting an investigation into the councillor and the organizers. Following this appeal, the Audiencia de Barcelona agreed to reopen the case and conduct the evidence requested by the public prosecutor.

"Mayor Alba Barnusell already stated that it was an unfortunate and isolated act. This position remains the same."

Municipal sources have reiterated that Mayor Alba Barnusell had already described the workshop, named 'Applied Urban Guerrilla Techniques', as an "unfortunate and isolated" act when the controversy erupted. They added that Councillor Martí Pujadas "will provide all relevant explanations" on the day of his court appearance.
The city council also emphasized the uniqueness and personality of the Granollers Festa Major model, highlighting the historical rivalry between the Blancs and Blaus groups, which dates back to 1983 and, they state, "has been consolidated and enjoys the affection of the city's people who make it possible".
