The Private Hospital Asylum Foundation of Granollers and the El Xiprer Foundation formalized a framework agreement on Tuesday to promote social and solidarity initiatives, aiming to support vulnerable individuals in Granollers.

The alliance, signed last Tuesday, establishes joint work lines in areas such as awareness, promotion of volunteering, and organization of food and material collection campaigns. Additionally, it seeks to foster social commitment among hospital professionals and its community.

"Specifically, the agreement aims to publicize the work of El Xiprer within the hospital environment, both professionally and for users."

Marta Molins · President of the Friends of El Xiprer Association
The signing ceremony was attended by Beatriu Bayés, general director of the FPHAG; Xavier Quincoces, president of the El Xiprer Foundation; and Marta Molins, the new president of the Friends of El Xiprer Association. Molins highlighted the importance of the agreement to make El Xiprer's work visible and announced open house days to bring their work closer to the hospital community.

"Previously, more punctual collaborations had been carried out, but we believe that now is a good time to make it formal and broad, with greater scope."

Beatriu Bayés · General Director of the FPHAG
For her part, Beatriu Bayés emphasized that both entities share a philosophy and values of solidarity and public service. This collaboration is integrated into the strategic plan of Granollers Hospital, which has humanization and citizen involvement as one of its main axes, seeking to encourage hospital professionals to participate in volunteering.
After the signing, Xavier Quincoces guided hospital members through the facilities of the El Xiprer Foundation, showcasing the kitchen and dining room where meals are offered to vulnerable individuals. The entity provides breakfast to about fifty people, mostly young people with mental health issues, who are also advised to facilitate their labor and social integration.
At noon, the dining room hosts between 35 and 40 older individuals suffering from unwanted loneliness, finding a space for companionship at El Xiprer. Quincoces emphasized that they prefer to be considered a "shelter home" rather than a soup kitchen, as many attendees have homes but seek emotional support. The entity, with about 220 volunteers, also organizes special meals for Christmas and Epiphany.
