The objective of the Table is to organize the joint work of the Network for addressing gender-based violence at a territorial level, following the mandate of the National Commission for Coordinated Intervention against Gender-Based Violence (CNVM). During the session, actions by the Department of Equality and Feminism in prevention, detection, professional training, improved care, protection, and networking were detailed.
The director of the Plan for Affective, Sexual, and Reproductive Health of the Department of Health, Ramon Escuriet, presented the protocols for addressing gender-based and sexual violence in the health sector in Catalonia. These protocols adapt the approach to the current social and legal reality, recognizing violence as a public health issue and focusing on victims' rights. The implementation of a early detection questionnaire for all women during pregnancy follow-up, postpartum, voluntary termination of pregnancy, and in cases of mental health or substance use problems is planned.
In the second part of the session, journalist Berta Boter moderated a round table on local circuits and territorial referents, with the participation of Yanire Gutiérrez, director of the Specialized Intervention Service (SIE) of Vallès Oriental, and Maria Villegas, councilor for Gender Equality and LGTBI+, Transparency and Good Governance, Public Health and Consumption of the Granollers City Council. They discussed daily coordination among different territorial agents and the challenges for improving the relationship between the health system and the broader approach network.
The meeting, held in the Francesc Tarafa hall in Granollers, was attended by representatives from city councils, local and regional administrations, as well as members of entities and security forces.
