A total of 35 people have started their jobs today within the Work and Training Program 2026, involving the Consell Comarcal del Vallès Oriental and 22 town councils in the region. The initiative combines employment, training, and support to enhance participants' job placement.

Before starting their work activity, participants attended a welcome and information session at the Centre de Recursos Agraris de Can Ribas, in les Franqueses del Vallès. The event served to introduce the program's operations and the training and support actions planned during the employment period.
The hired individuals will take on various professional roles within the participating town councils and the County Council, including positions such as administrative staff, receptionists, support technicians, construction workers, gardeners, municipal brigade members, cleaning staff, waste management operators, home care assistants, and civic agents.
The program primarily targets long-term unemployed individuals, recipients of the Renda Garantida de Ciutadania (Guaranteed Citizenship Income), women facing significant employment challenges, and unemployed transgender individuals. Of the 59 planned contracts, 7 began in September, 35 have started today, and the remainder will be completed next week.
This edition includes participation from the town councils of Bigues i Riells del Fai, Cardedeu, Cànoves i Samalús, Figaró-Montmany, Gualba, la Garriga, la Llagosta, Lliçà d'Amunt, Lliçà de Vall, Llinars del Vallès, Martorelles, Montmeló, Montornès del Vallès, Sant Celoni, Sant Feliu de Codines, Sant Fost de Campsentelles, Santa Eulàlia de Ronçana, Santa Maria de Martorelles, Santa Maria de Palautordera, Tagamanent, Vallromanes, and Vilanova del Vallès, along with the Consell Comarcal.
The initiative is promoted by the Servei Públic d'Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC), executed by the County Council and town councils, and funded by the Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal (State Public Employment Service) and local contributions. It contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: "Decent work and economic growth".
